There is no doubt having a good breakfast helps our ability to learn, but there has been some debate on whether consuming breakfast or not helps with weight loss. What research is finding is eating a high protein breakfast decreases hunger stimulating hormones, keeping you full longer and potentially reducing calorie intake later in the day.
